Currently, many of us get movie rentals often. Normally they wait for the DVD to come out, as opposed to going to the theater. Here is a short list of some of the most popular DVD rentals in October 2008.
INDIANA JONES AND THE KINGDOM OF THE CRYSTAL SKULL: Indiana is back in action, after a long break. This is the latest film in the Indiana Jones movies. In this movie it's the cold war, and the Russians are the enemy. Now, the chase is on for the Crystal Skulls, and the secrets they carry.
THE LAZARUS PROJECT: Ex con Ben Garvey is a new man now. With a loving wife and child, and a good job, he has found happiness. Then, he is fired from work, and reverts to his old life of crime. This goes terribly wrong, and he will pay with his life. He is sent to die. Shockingly, he now finds himself in a psych ward. He now struggles for his sanity, and his spritual well being.
LINEWATCH: Michael Dixon is a veteran boarder patrolman in New Mexico, and life seems to be good. Now, things in his past are about to rear it's ugly head. He was a member of a violent Los Angeles gang, but he had the courage to leave. When a bad twist of fate exposes his whereabouts to a member of his old gang, he finds himself in a potentially deadly situation. He has no choice but to take a chance, and ensure that the gang can gat a large supply of drugs into the country.
THE INCREDIBLE HULK: This feature film tells a story about Dr. Bruce Banner (Edward Norton), who has been changed into a creature called the green Hulk. This feature film is an epic tale of the comic character the Hulk. Stars include Edward Norton, Tim Roth, William hurt, Liv Tyler. Louis Leterrier directs this film. The film genre is sci-fi/action.
DECEPTION: Jonathan McQuarry (ewan mcgregor) has a chance meeting with charismatic corporate lawyer Wyatt Bose. This chance meeting is one that changes his life forever. John is exposed to "The List", which provides access to involvement in a sexual indescretions. Sadly, he also finds himself in a treacherous game of back stabbing and murder.
JOURNEY TO THE CENTER OF THE EARTH: On a quest to find his lost brother, a science professor goes on a mission that puts him on a journey to the center of earth. This is a remake of the 1959 production, that was formed from the classic work by renowned author Jules Verne. This sci-fi adventure stars Brendan Fraser, and Anita Briem.
THE HAPPENING: Science teacher Elliot Moore, with his wife, and Julian, with his daughter Jess are getting away from the big city. Philadelphia has been thrown into chaos. People have been overwhelmed by an unusual force, and are killing themselves. Can mankind find the solution, or are we approaching the finish of the human race?
IRON MAN: Weapons developer, business mogal, Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr.) is taken hostage by Afghan fighters. He is instructed to build missiles for the insurgent group. He was injured when he was abducted, and has metal in his chest. To live through this life threatening wound, and escape his captors, he develops a suit of armor, which protects and strengthens him. Iron Man, a new super hero has arrived.
SPEED RACER: A comic, turned TV anime, gets real actors. Much like the film The Flinstones, Speed Racer chages a cartoon to a movie with an actual cast. Speed Racer who loves racing. His goal is to win The Crucible, a very dangerous race that had cost his brother his life. With odds against him, and risking it all, he partners up with his enemy of the past, Racer X, in a last ditch effort to give himself a chance to win, so the family business won't go under.
