I have made a short list of movie hits for 2008. These are some of the motion pictures I enjoyed watching this year. I'm sure that you can find a picture or two that you will enjoy.
THE DARK KNIGHT: This time Batman, along with Lieutenant Jim Gordon and District Attorney Harvey Dent, are on a mission to clean up Gotham City. Crime is now down, until a new criminal mastermind shows up, and things get a lot worse. Now, Batman really has his hands full, as criminal mastermind, the Joker, has released his criminal insanity on Gotham City.
STEP BROTHERS: When two child like older men, who both live at home with one parent, are now going to share a room because their parents marry, big problems loom. Put Will Ferrell and John C. Reilly as the key players, and the table is set for lots of laughs. This seems like a must see for a good time this year.
HAMLET 2: Dana Marshz, formerly a small time actor, has found himself teaching the high school theater classes to uninterested students. When the high school loses a major building, the administration decides the acting classes will have to go. With a challenge now in front of him, he plans to keep the school from dropping his classes by producing Hamlet 2, a sequel to the original work, which he writes himself.
TROPIC THUNDER: Overloded with good actors we find ourselves watching a spoof on vietnam war movies. Things are going bad, so to get his underachieving super stars to make a first rate war movie, the frantic, and abused, director Damien Cockburn into the middle of nowhere, leaving them to fend for themselves. His theory is to frightnen them into producing a war classic, which hidden cameras will capture. Unbelievabley, as the director walks over a land mine and is blown apart, the crew is left on its own, and they start acting, thinking it's a big set, when things start to get very real. Jack Black, Ben Stiller, Robert Downey Jr., and Tom Cruise star.
BOLT: Bolt: This film is a fun animation. Bolt, is a dog who is an actor, who plays the role of a dog that has super hero dog powers. The thing about Bolt is that he really thinks he has these powers. When, by chance, he is thrown into the real world, he realizes that he is only a normal dog. On a journey to get back home, he is aided by Mittens, the cat, and Rhino, the hampster.
MADAGASCAR: ESCAPE 2 AFRICA: This is obviously the next edition to the animated smash hit Madagascar. Our four animal stars want to return to New York's famous Central Park Zoo, which is home for them all. Instead, with the Penguins leading them astray, they are heading off to their true homeland, Africa.
GET SMART: Maxwell Smart (agent 86) is here again, can you believe it? Would you believe... ? KAOS vs CONTROL, gadgets galore, and all the classic quotes. It is is a fun look back at the 1960's spy spoof series.
PINEAPPLE EXPRESS: Full time stoner Dale Denton unfortunately has just viewed a crooked cop, and a powerful drug dealer, kill someone. He was spotted witnessing what's gone down. Realizing this, he drops his joint of pineapple express, and takes off. This joint is such a unique type of weed, that the bad guys can trace it. The chase is on, Dale and his pot dealer friend Saul are deparately hidding from the bad guys.
ROLE MODELS: Danny and Wheeler, a couple of energy drink promoters, are facing jail time after trashing the company truck. The only way to avoid jail time is to work in community service for 150 hours. They will have to mentor troubled kids as sort of a big brother. A good situation for some good laughs.
Most people buy or rent films when the come out on DVD, and watch them at home. A more recent method for getting films is by using down loading technologies from online sources. There are websites that will download tons of different movies.
