Addons Help World of Warcraft Addiction?

OK, so you are addicted to World of Warcraft no more, but you still play every now and then. You probably know the disorientation that comes every time you log in now. What was I doing last time? Why am I camped in Netherstorm? What quest was I working on? Or what is the next step in the chain?

First thing to get over is beating yourself up for forgetting. At least that's the way it is for me. When I'm living, eating, breathing World of Warcraft ie, addicted, I know everything. (Or at least think I do.) Now I sometimes feel like I know next to nothing.

When I was addicted, I didn't need sites like thottbot.com and wowhead.com nearly as much. In fact, I had a certain disdain of them. Now I turn to them all the time. There are other sites that do the same thing too by the way. Those are just the two that I use most.

Even better though, I've learned about a couple great addons: Questhelper and Carbonite Quest. Both do almost the same thing, so choose between the two. Don't run them at the same time. (I don't think you even could.)

Both keep track of your questlog and guide you through the most efficient path to completing the quests. If all members in a group use the same tool, it will consolidate the quest list and take all the quests into consideration which is a great help in avoiding the, "What should we do next?" discussions that can take up a lot of time.

Both addons will lead you astray on sometimes. But both work correctly most of the time. I think Carbonite benefits from having the Cartographer addon installed as well. Questhelper you can pretty much all by itself.

I use Carbonite instead of Questhelper because it shows you a path of where you've been. It makes it a piece of cake to find your way out of dungeons instead of wandering lost or maybe having to hearth out like I do sometimes.

Carbonite comes in a free version and a paid version. I use the paid one but the free one is a great help as well. Questhelper is totally free the last time I knew.

From what I've read there are addons that go beyond Questhelper and Carbonite. These |others |provide you guidance on which quests are worth your time. But since I'm the kind that likes to follow story lines through, I haven't looked into them.

Do you know of other time saving addons? Let me know. You can either write them up yourself for me to post at myworldofwarcraftaddiction.com (giving you credit of course) or alert me to them and I'll write something up. I've already thought of a couple more addons that I'll be writing up in the near future.
