Choosing the Best Videogame Console for Your Purposes

Your home entertainment center is incomplete without a home video game console. So what is the best option for those on a limited budget? Not everyone will be able to, or want to for that matter, purchase each system available.

The first question to think about is what kind of entertainment requirements you have. If you like to watch movies at home, then do you need to upgrade to BluRay. If you would like true high definition, then your answer should be yes, along with an HDTV and the proper HDMI cables. This will give you the best quality possible. A cost effective way to get a BluRay player is to buy a Playstation 3. They come with a player built in, in every model. You can also go online with the PS3, provided you have internet access.

The next obvious choice is the Microsoft XBox 360. It doesn't offer the BluRay, but does cost about one hundred dollars less. If you would rather have a larger range of games than the BluRay, this is a good choice. You can go online as well, for a monthly fee. The other choice is the Nintendo Wii. This is the least expensive system, and has online capability as well. A neat feature is downloading older games and classics.

The feature that sets this machine apart from the other two is in its unique way to interact with the games. It is based on motion sensors placed on top of the television and is completely wireless. It does not have the ability to play Blu-rays or DVDs, but again, is much less expensive. It is the type of machine that the whole family can play with and is easy for adults as well as young children to play. It is very accessible to many different demographics.

These machines can be bought at nearly any retail store or game store. There are many websites that can help answer any specific questions that you may have and you can compare specifics about the inner workings of the machine. This might be helpful to tech-heads, but to most of us, it only matters if its fun or not.
