This is a small selection of movie hits for 2008. I have chosen a few of the movies I found entertaining in this years crop. I'm sure that you can find a picture or two that are good viewing.
THE DARK KNIGHT: This time Batman, along with Lieutenant Jim Gordon and District Attorney Harvey Dent, are taking the major criminals off the streets. Things are going very well, until a new criminal mastermind shows up, and attacks the city. Batman has his work cut out him now, as criminal mastermind, the Joker, has released his criminal plots on the big city.
STEP BROTHERS: When two 40 year olds, who still live with their single parents, are going to live in the same bedroom because their parents marry, we see that they are bound to have problems. Casting John Reilly and Will Ferrell as the key players; It seems to be a great recipe for a funny movie. This movie is a sure fire bet if you?re looking for some laughs.
HAMLET 2: Unsuccessful actor Dana Marshz has settled into teaching the high school theater classes to uninspired high school kids. When they lose a building at the campus, the school board figures the theatre program will get the axe. Now fully motivated, he is determined to save the program by producing Hamlet 2, a sequel to the original work, which he put to paper himself.
TROPIC THUNDER: Overloaded with good actors we find ourselves watching a parody of recent war movies. Things are going bad, so to get the over rated cast of actors to create a quality war film, the desperate director into the wild jungle, leaving them to fend for themselves. The goal is to overwhelm them so they will produce a work of genius, which will be caught on hidden cameras in the area. When the director blows up on an old French land mine, the crew is left on its own, and they start acting, thinking it's a big set, when things start to get very real. Written, directed, and acted in, by Ben Stiller.
BOLT: Bolt: This movie is a film for the whole family. Bolt is a dog actor, who in his role on television, is a super hero dog. The thing about Bolt is that he is convinced he has these powers. After he is unexpectedly put into a real life situation, he realizes that he is only a normal dog. On a journey to get back home, he is aided by Mittens, the cat, and Rhino, the hamster.
MADAGASCAR: ESCAPE 2 AFRICA: As I'm sure you know, this is the next edition to the animated smash hit Madagascar. Our four animal stars are trying to get back to the Central Park Zoo, which is home for them all. With things going wrong again, with the Penguins leading them astray, they are off to Africa instead.
THE CHRONICALS OF NARNIA, PRINCE CASPIAN: It's only about one down the road in "real" time, when Peter, Susan, Edmund, and Lucy are mysteriously pulled back into Narnia. Running for his life, Prince Caspian has blown the magic horn, praying that he will be saved. In Narnia, 1,300 years have passed since they were Kings and Queens, but they now return to rescue Narnia from an evil fate. With the aid of the brave warriors of Narnia, they conquer their foes and free Narnia.
IRON MAN: Playboy, engineer genius, Tony Stark (played by Robert Downey Jr.) is kidnapped by Afghan rebels. They try to force him to build weapons for the insurgent group. He was wounded when his convoy was attacked, and has shrapnel stuck in his chest. To survive his injuries, and break away from his enemies, he creates a suit made of armor, which protects and strengthens him. Iron Man is born.
ROLE MODELS: Danny and Wheeler, who sell energy drinks, are going to see some hard jail time after destroying the company vehicle while binging. The option to get out of jail time is to perform 150 hours of community service. Their task will be to mentor troubled kids as sort of a big brother. The pieces are all in place for this to be very funny.
Most people buy or rent films when the come out on DVD, and views them on their home entertainment system. An increasingly popular way to get movies is through downloads off websites. There are websites that offer downloading of almost any film you can think of.
