Finding Costumes at Maryland Craft Shows

Since it's our official State Sport, it is perfectly normal to see the occasional jousting show here in Maryland. Of course, none of the participants are real-life knights, but they are nevertheless people who enjoy the traditional fight in horseback. It's no longer a bloodthirsty sport; the International Jousting Association has introduced modern safety protocols. As a result, the event is now a lot more fun.

These events are especially fun if the whole fair tries to mimic the culture of the middle ages. Anything of technological value is left at home, and people come in costumes adequate for that time. Thus, the whole place truly becomes a snapshot of a former time; a time when knights galloped on their mighty steeds to perform deeds of honor.

If you plan on attending one of these craft shows, then you must also be in costume to fit in. If you do not have one prepared, don't fret - go to the event in civilian clothes. Once you arrive at the craft show outside the joust area proper, try looking around the fair. Besides the magnificent regalia of crafts available, you will also see expert people in the art of costume crafts. Have yourself fitted up with one of these clothes, or commission one to be made for you.

Now, the question at this point is how to get to these jousting festivals. Thanks to the Internet, this is not really a big problem. A simple search on Maryland Craft Fairs will lead you to websites that list the events at your leisure. Get all the necessary information, and you'll be well on your way.

So what are you waiting for? Be part of this wonderful tradition stemming back from the middle ages! Watch warriors in plate mail duke it out against each other in monumental clashes, and get involved with the craft shows!
