Dragnet: Aykroyd is a joke rebirth of Jack Webb, playing Sgt. Joe Friday's thick although committed nephew in this burlesque. Hank is fun as his freewheeling new companion, with Morgan, Webb's onetime companion, now advertised to commander of the LAPD. Starts out relatively ludicrous then goes flat. However, the punch line is a screech. Aykroyd co-scripted this movie with Mankiewicz and Alan Zweibel.
