Hollywood Walk of Fame

Hollywood walk of fames is one of the main tourist spots in Hollywood. It is a sidewalk embedded with more than 2000 five pointed stars featuring the names of famous celebrities which are honored by Hollywood Chamber of Commerce for their contribution in the entertainment industry.
The Walk of Fame runs east to west on Hollywood Boulevard. It is about 3 1/2 round trip. Nomitations are submitted annually by May 31. By the following months the committee meets and pick the next year's group of walk of famers. The First star was awarded to Joanne Woodward on February 9, 1960. And on April 19, 2007 to Erik Estrada. this became the 2,336th star on the walk. Fictional characters have also stars such as Bugs Bunny, Mickey Mouse, Godzilla, Kermit the Frog, The Simpsons, The Rugrats, Big Bird, Snow White and Winnie the Pooh. Muhammed Ali's star was displayed on the wall of Kodak Theatre due to Ali's request that he did not want to be walked on, this broke the tradition of walk of fame on 2002.
Each star consist of gold settling a pink five pointed star bordered with bronze decorated into a charcoal square. Inside the star is the name of the celebrity and below is the round logo emblems of which the honoree received the star. Such emblems are motion picture camera for contribution in film industry, television set in broadcast television industry, phonograph record in recodring industry, radio microphone in radio industry and twin comedy in live theatre, these emblems are taken from the different entertainment industry as noted.
